Indications

Vibramycin (Doxycycline) is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and tick-borne diseases such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever. It is also used in the treatment of acne and for malaria prophylaxis in areas where chloroquine resistance is prevalent. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including some that are resistant to other antibiotics. Its use should be based on antimicrobial susceptibility testing and should be administered under the supervision of a physician.

Composition

Each Vibramycin capsule contains 50 mg of Doxycycline, as well as the excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Vibramycin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to doxycycline, other tetracyclines, or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or to children under 8 years of age due to the risk of alterations in dental and bone development.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Vibramycin in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, and in those taking anticoagulants. It is important to avoid excessive sun exposure, as this medication can increase sensitivity to sunlight. Medical monitoring during treatment is also recommended to assess response and detect possible adverse effects.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
