Indications

Vaqta is indicated for active immunization against hepatitis A in adults and children over one year of age. Vaccination is especially recommended for people traveling to areas where hepatitis A is endemic, as well as for those who are in close contact with infected individuals. Its use is also suggested in individuals at high risk of exposure to hepatitis A, such as healthcare workers who manage hepatitis cases and people with chronic liver diseases.

Composition

Each 1 mL dose of Vaqta contains:

  • Inactivated hepatitis A virus (HM-175 strains): 1.44-1.88 Vero cell culture
  • Excipients: sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.

Contraindications

Vaqta is contraindicated in individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions to any component of the vaccine or to previous doses of the hepatitis A vaccine. Its use is not recommended in patients with high fever or moderate to severe acute illness.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in immunocompromised patients or those undergoing immunosuppressive treatment, as the immune response may be diminished. Additionally, the patient's health status should be evaluated before administration and appropriate follow-up should be considered after vaccination.

Storage

Vaqta should be stored under refrigeration between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light. The vaccine must be used before the expiration date indicated on the packaging.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
