Indications
Valvulan Elixir is indicated for the treatment of various cardiac conditions, specifically in congestive heart failure and for controlling heart rate in patients with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter. Digoxin, its active ingredient, works by increasing the heart's contractile force and regulating heart rhythm, thereby helping to improve cardiac function in patients with conditions that compromise the effectiveness of blood pumping. Careful evaluation of renal function and electrolyte levels is recommended during its administration.
Composition
Each ml of Valvulan Elixir contains 0.05 mg of digoxin. Excipients include: purified water, citric acid, among others.
Contraindications
The use of Valvulan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to digoxin or any component of the formulation. Furthermore, it should not be administered in cases of second- or third-degree atrioventricular block without a pacemaker, nor in patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Caution should be exercised in patients with hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, or hypocalcemia, as these disorders can increase the risk of toxicity.
Precautions
Constant monitoring of blood digoxin levels is recommended, especially in elderly patients and those with impaired renal function. Likewise, concomitant medications that may interact with digoxin, such as some diuretics and antiarrhythmics, should be reviewed. In addition, regular monitoring for signs of toxicity, such as nausea, vomiting, visual disturbances, and changes in heart rhythm, is suggested.

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
