Indications

The Comirnaty Adult COVID vaccine is indicated for the prevention of COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. Its administration is recommended in two doses, given 21 days apart. This vaccine has demonstrated efficacy in reducing the incidence of severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19, as well as in decreasing virus transmission. It is important that vaccination is carried out in accordance with health authority recommendations and that the established vaccination schedule is followed.

Composition

Each 0.3 ml dose contains: BNT162b2, a messenger RNA encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, along with excipients that facilitate vaccine stability and administration. The composition also includes salts and sugars necessary to maintain product integrity.

Contraindications

The vaccine should not be administered to individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) to any of the vaccine components. Its use is not recommended for individuals who have had a significant adverse reaction to a previous dose of this vaccine. Any severe or chronic medical condition that may contraindicate vaccination should be carefully evaluated.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in individuals with a history of allergic reactions or those with immunosuppressive conditions. It is important to inform the doctor about any acute or chronic illness affecting the patient's health. Additionally, it is recommended to observe patients for at least 15 minutes after vaccination to detect possible adverse reactions.

Storage

The vaccine should be stored in a refrigerator at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C. It must not be frozen. It should be protected from light and kept in its original packaging until use. The vaccine has an expiration period that must be strictly observed to ensure its efficacy.
