Indications
Utrogestan 100 mg is indicated for the treatment of luteal phase insufficiency in women who are trying to conceive, as well as for the prevention of miscarriages related to progesterone deficiency. It is also used in hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal women, in combination with estrogens, for the treatment of symptoms associated with menopause. Additionally, it may be indicated for the management of certain gynecological conditions that require regulation of the menstrual cycle.
Composition
Each Utrogestan capsule contains 100 mg of progesterone as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as gelatin and glycerin, which are part of the capsule's formulation.
Contraindications
Utrogestan should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to progesterone or any of the excipients in the formula. It is contraindicated in cases of undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and in patients with a history of breast cancer or hormone-dependent organs. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases.
Precautions
It is important to have regular medical follow-ups during treatment with Utrogestan, especially in patients with a history of thromboembolic disorders, diabetes, hypertension, or migraines. Care should be taken when administering the medication to patients with a history of severe depression or those who experience adverse reactions during treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place and out of reach of children. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
