Indications
Utrogestan is indicated for the treatment of menstrual cycle disorders, such as primary and secondary amenorrhea, as well as in hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal women. It is also used in the prevention of spontaneous abortions in women with a history of luteal insufficiency. Additionally, progesterone is essential in maintaining pregnancy and is recommended in cases of assisted fertility.
Composition
Each Utrogestan capsule contains 100 mg of progesterone as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients: gelatin, glycerin, and soybean oil.
Contraindications
Utrogestan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to progesterone or any of the excipients in the formulation, as well as in cases of active thromboembolic disorders or a history thereof, severe liver diseases, known or suspected breast cancer, and undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Utrogestan in patients with a history of depression, seizure disorders, or in those with risk factors for thromboembolic diseases. It is recommended to monitor patients with diabetes mellitus and to monitor liver function. It is important to follow medical instructions and not exceed the recommended dose.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 30 °C.
