Indications

Uromes is a medication indicated for the prevention and treatment of urinary toxicity associated with the use of chemotherapeutic agents, specifically cyclophosphamide and ifosfamide. Its use is aimed at reducing the risk of hemorrhagic cystitis induced by these medications. Furthermore, it can be used as part of adjuvant treatments in cancer patients to minimize adverse effects on the urinary tract. Uromes acts as a bladder protector, allowing for better tolerance to oncological treatment. Its use must be supervised by a healthcare professional.

Composition

Each Uromes ampoule contains 400 mg of Mesna in a solution for intravenous administration.

Contraindications

Uromes is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Mesna or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal failure without adequate medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney or liver disease. It is important to monitor renal function during treatment, as well as to assess the need for dose adjustment in case of alterations in renal function. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medication.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
