Indications
Unokavi (Phytomenadione) is indicated for the treatment and prevention of hemorrhages caused by vitamin K deficiency. It is used in patients with coagulation disorders, such as warfarin-induced bleeding, and in cases of hypoprothrombinemia. Additionally, it is recommended for the reversal of oral anticoagulants in emergency situations. This medicine is essential in the management of patients with hepatitis, fat malabsorption, and those requiring surgery with a risk of bleeding. It is also used in specific situations, such as the prophylaxis of hemorrhage in newborns and in the treatment of certain types of hemorrhagic diseases.
Composition
Each Unokavi ampoule contains 10 mg of phytomenadione (vitamin K1) in 1 ml of injectable solution.
Contraindications
Unokavi is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to phytomenadione or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with severe liver diseases or in those with coagulopathies of unknown origin without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Unokavi in patients with liver disease or in those who are receiving anticoagulants, as it may interfere with the effect of these medications. It is important to monitor coagulation levels during treatment. Administration should be supervised in appropriate clinical settings by healthcare professionals.
