Indications
Uldeus (Gemcitabine) is indicated for the treatment of various types of cancer, including non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and bladder cancer. Its use is justified in patients with metastatic disease, as well as in those who are not candidates for surgery or radiotherapy. Gemcitabine acts by inhibiting DNA synthesis, which prevents neoplastic cell proliferation. It is important that the treatment is carried out under the supervision of a specialist physician, who will determine the dosage regimen and the duration of treatment according to the patient's characteristics and response to the medication.
Composition
Each vial of Uldeus contains 1 gram of gemcitabine, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the injectable solution.
Contraindications
Uldeus is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to gemcitabine or any of the components of the formulation. Its use should also be avoided in patients with severe active infections and in those who are being treated with other chemotherapeutic agents that may increase the risk of toxicity.
Precautions
Careful monitoring is recommended in patients with impaired liver or kidney function, as well as in those with a history of autoimmune diseases. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients receiving vaccinations, as the use of Uldeus may affect the immune response. Continuous evaluation of the blood count is essential, as gemcitabine can cause myelosuppression.
Storage
Uldeus should be stored at controlled temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
