Indications
Ulcoderma Ung is a medication indicated for the treatment of chronic wounds, burns, ulcers, and skin lesions that require a moist environment to promote healing. It is especially useful in the management of infected lesions and in promoting tissue granulation, due to its combined action of collagenase and chloramphenicol. Collagenase helps to debride necrotic tissue, while chloramphenicol provides antibacterial activity, preventing infections and promoting the recovery of damaged skin.
Composition
Each 100 g of Ulcoderma Ung contains: 0.01 g of collagenase and 0.2 g of chloramphenicol. Excipients: lanolin, liquid paraffin, among others.
Contraindications
Ulcoderma Ung is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with untreated viral, fungal, or mycobacterial infections. Its use is not recommended in cases of malignant ulcers.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergic reactions to chloramphenicol-class antibiotics. It is important to evaluate the wound regularly and consult a doctor if there is no improvement. Also, contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. Use on large areas of skin without medical supervision is not recommended due to the risk of systemic absorption of chloramphenicol.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep away from light and out of reach of children.
