Indications
Tylex Cd is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain that does not respond to non-opioid analgesics. Its use is recommended in situations such as postoperative pain, cancer pain, and pain associated with musculoskeletal conditions. The combination of paracetamol and codeine allows for a synergistic effect that improves analgesic efficacy, providing relief in patients requiring more intensive pain control. Codeine acts as an opioid analgesic, while paracetamol increases the pain threshold and reduces fever.
Composition
Each capsule contains: 500 mg paracetamol and 30 mg codeine. Excipients: talc, corn starch, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with severe respiratory diseases, respiratory failure, or in cases of opioid dependence. It should not be used in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in those with a history of severe gastrointestinal problems.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, respiratory depression, hepatic or renal insufficiency, as well as in the elderly. Monitoring is recommended for use in patients who may be at risk of developing opioid dependence. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Storage
Store in its original packaging at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
