Indications
Lomecan V Duo is indicated for the treatment of vaginal infections caused by fungi, specifically those caused by Candida species, such as Candida albicans. This medication combines the action of the antifungal Clotrimazole, which acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, resulting in the death of the pathogenic organism. Its use is recommended for the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis and can be part of a treatment in cases of mixed vaginitis, where the presence of other pathogenic agents is suspected. It can also be used as a prophylactic treatment in situations of high risk of fungal infections in the vaginal area.
Composition
Each ovule contains 200 mg of Clotrimazole. The cream contains 2% Clotrimazole as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Lomecan V Duo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Clotrimazole or to any of the components of the formulation. Its use is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy, as well as in breastfeeding women without adequate supervision from a healthcare professional.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergic reactions to similar antifungals. In addition, it is suggested to avoid the use of intimate hygiene products that may alter vaginal pH during treatment. It is important that the patient follows the doctor's instructions regarding the duration of treatment to avoid relapses or resistance to treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
