Indications

Arcoxia (Etoricoxib) is indicated for the treatment of acute pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is also used in the treatment of acute gout and in the management of postoperative pain. Its action is based on the selective inhibition of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation and pain. This medication should be used under the supervision of a physician and according to the specific indications for each patient.

Composition

Each Arcoxia tablet contains 90 mg of Etoricoxib as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the tablet's formulation.

Contraindications

Arcoxia is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Etoricoxib or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions, active gastric or duodenal ulcers, severe heart failure, or in those receiving concomitant treatment with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, renal or hepatic insufficiency. Appropriate monitoring is important in those with risk factors for cardiovascular events. Additionally, it is recommended to evaluate renal function before and during treatment with Arcoxia, especially in patients over 65 years of age or those with pre-existing conditions that may affect renal function.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
