Indications

Arcoxia is indicated for the treatment of acute pain, as well as for the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. This medication can be used to relieve pain associated with primary dysmenorrhea and postoperative pain. The effectiveness of Arcoxia is based on its ability to selectively inhibit the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which results in the reduction of pain and inflammation.

Composition

Each Arcoxia tablet contains 120 mg of etoricoxib as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients such as lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, and other components necessary for the tablet formulation.

Contraindications

Arcoxia is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or to any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and in those with severe hepatic insufficiency. It should not be administered to patients with active peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those taking other medications that may increase the risk of adverse effects. The risk-benefit ratio should be evaluated before starting treatment in these patients.

Storage

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep in its original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
