Indications
Aprovasc is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of Irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, allows for more effective blood pressure control, contributing to the reduction of the risk of cardiovascular events. This medication can be used as initial treatment or in patients who do not achieve adequate control with monotherapy.
Composition
Each Aprovasc tablet contains:
- Irbesartan: 300 mg
- Amlodipine: 5 mg
Contraindications
Aprovasc is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Likewise, it should not be administered to patients with severe hepatic insufficiency or in those with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, liver disease, or in those who are receiving concomitant treatments that may affect blood pressure. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
