Indications
Aprovasc is indicated for the treatment of hypertension in adults. The combination of Irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, acts synergistically to reduce blood pressure. This medication can be used in patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with a single antihypertensive agent. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended during treatment to adjust the dose if necessary.
Composition
Each Aprovasc tablet contains 300 mg of Irbesartan and 5 mg of Amlodipine, as well as excipients necessary for tablet formulation.
Contraindications
Aprovasc is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin II antagonists. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal failure and in those who are being treated with potent diuretics that can cause dehydration or hypovolemia.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart failure, liver or kidney disease, as well as in those receiving other antihypertensive medications. It is important to monitor renal function and electrolytes in patients receiving Aprovasc, especially in those with pre-existing conditions that may affect renal function.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
