Indications
Aprovasc is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. The combination of Irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, acts synergistically to reduce blood pressure and improve hemodynamic control. This medication can be used as initial treatment or in patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with a single antihypertensive agent. Additionally, Aprovasc may be beneficial in patients with comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease, as it offers renal and cardiovascular protection.
Composition
Each Aprovasc tablet contains: 150 mg of Irbesartan and 10 mg of Amlodipine.
Contraindications
Aprovasc is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or in those with severe liver problems. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, hepatic insufficiency, and in those undergoing dialysis. Care should also be taken in patients with a history of angioneurotic edema. It is important to monitor blood pressure regularly and adjust the dose as needed.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
