Indications
Antredamin (Aripiprazole) is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia in adults and adolescents. In addition, it is used in the treatment of bipolar disorder, both in manic and mixed episodes. It has also been indicated as an adjunctive treatment for major depression in adults, when antidepressants alone are not sufficient. Its mechanism of action is based on the modulation of dopamine and serotonin receptors, thus allowing a balance in neurotransmitter activity in the brain.
Composition
Each Antredamin tablet contains 10 mg of Aripiprazole as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients: lactose, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Antredamin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Aripiprazole or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome or Huntington's chorea. Likewise, it should be avoided in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless considered strictly necessary.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of seizure disorders, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, or those who present symptoms of dehydration. It is important to monitor patients who experience changes in mood or behavior. Abrupt discontinuation of the medication can cause withdrawal symptoms.
Storage
Store Antredamin in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
