Indications

Antivon (Ondansetron) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of acute nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy and radiotherapy in adult and pediatric patients. It is also used in the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. Its efficacy is based on Ondansetron's antagonistic action on serotonin 5-HT3 receptors, which helps control these symptoms in patients receiving oncological or surgical treatments. It is important that administration is carried out according to the regimen indicated by the treating physician.

Composition

Each 2 ml of injectable solution contains 4 mg of Ondansetron. Excipients: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, and water for injection.

Contraindications

Antivon is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ondansetron or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with intestinal obstruction, as it may worsen the condition. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of arrhythmias or electrocardiographic abnormalities.

Precautions

It is recommended to evaluate liver function before administering Antivon, especially in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency. Caution should be exercised with prolonged use, as it could increase the risk of adverse effects. During treatment, monitoring for signs of adverse reactions and immediate attention to any unusual symptoms is essential.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and moisture. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. Keep out of reach of children.
