Indications

Anglucid is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in overweight patients or those at risk of cardiovascular complications. This medication works by improving insulin sensitivity and decreasing glucose production in the liver, helping to control blood glucose levels. It is commonly used in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin when diet and physical exercise are not sufficient to maintain glucose levels within adequate values.

Composition

Each Anglucid tablet contains 850 mg of metformin as the active ingredient. Excipients include: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, and other inert components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.

Contraindications

Anglucid is contraindicated in patients with: severe renal or hepatic insufficiency, lactic acidosis, a history of allergic reactions to metformin, conditions predisposing to severe dehydration or shock, as well as in those with severe acute diseases that compromise the patient's metabolic state.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with compromised renal function, as this may increase the risk of lactic acidosis. Renal function should also be monitored periodically during treatment. Furthermore, the doctor should be informed of any medication being taken, as interactions that may affect the efficacy of Anglucid may occur.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medication after the expiry date indicated on the package.
