Indications

Anglucid is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, primarily in overweight patients, as an adjunct to an adequate diet and exercise. This medication helps control blood glucose levels by improving insulin sensitivity and reducing glucose production by the liver. It can be used alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin, as directed by a physician. It is especially useful in patients who do not achieve adequate glucose control with diet and exercise alone.

Composition

Each Anglucid tablet contains 850 mg of metformin as the active ingredient. Excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Anglucid is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to metformin or any of the formula's components, in those with severe renal insufficiency or acute kidney disease, in situations of severe dehydration, serious infections, as well as in patients with a history of lactic acidosis. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless the physician deems that the benefits outweigh the risks.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Anglucid in patients with moderate renal insufficiency, a history of liver diseases, or in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to adequately monitor renal function and blood glucose levels during treatment. Treatment should not be discontinued without consulting a physician, and any unusual symptoms appearing during the use of the medication should be reported.

Storage

Store Anglucid at room temperature, between 15 and 30°C, in a dry place and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
