Indications
Angeliq is indicated for the treatment of vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause, as well as for the prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fractures. Additionally, this medication is used as a hormonal contraceptive in women of childbearing age. The combination of estradiol and drospirenone helps regulate the menstrual cycle and provides effective birth control.
Composition
Each Angeliq tablet contains:
- Estradiol: 1 mg
- Drospirenone: 2 mg
Contraindications
Angeliq is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components, venous or arterial thrombosis, active liver disease, or known or suspected breast cancer. It should not be used in women with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding or hormonal disorders requiring different treatment.
Precautions
Regular medical follow-up is recommended during treatment. In case of symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or leg swelling, discontinue use and consult a doctor immediately. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of hypertension, diabetes, or cardiovascular risk factors.
Storage
Store the medication in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
