Indications
Amzuvag is indicated for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. Tamsulosin, its active ingredient, acts as a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, facilitating urinary flow by relaxing the muscles of the prostate and bladder. This medication can be used to improve the quality of life of patients who experience difficulty urinating due to obstruction caused by an enlarged prostate.
Composition
Each Amzuvag capsule contains 4 mg of tamsulosin (as tamsulosin hydrochloride) and excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and talc, which allow for the proper formulation and release of the active ingredient.
Contraindications
Amzuvag should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to tamsulosin or any of its components. It is also contraindicated in individuals with a history of orthostatic hypotension or in those receiving concomitant treatment with other alpha-blockers.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of hepatic or renal impairment and in those who are being treated with other medications that may cause hypotension. Patients should be monitored during the initiation of treatment, especially if they have conditions that may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
