Indications
Ampliron Duo is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to amoxicillin, such as respiratory tract infections, ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. Its combination with clavulanic acid helps prevent bacterial resistance, allowing the antibiotic to be effective against bacterial strains that produce beta-lactamases, enzymes that can inactivate amoxicillin. This medication is suitable for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, and its use should be based on the results of cultures and sensitivity tests.
Composition
Each Ampliron Duo tablet contains 875 mg of amoxicillin and 125 mg of clavulanic acid.
Contraindications
Ampliron Duo is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, or other beta-lactam antibiotics. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction related to the use of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease. It is important to monitor renal function in those receiving prolonged treatment. The use of this medication may cause adverse reactions, such as diarrhea, which should be managed appropriately. Furthermore, the possibility of allergic reactions should be considered in patients with a history of allergies to other medications.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
