Indications
Ampigrin Adult Injectable Solution is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections caused by ampicillin-susceptible microorganisms. Specific indications include: respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia and bronchitis; urinary tract infections; gastrointestinal infections; bacterial meningitis; and septicemia. This medication is effective in the treatment of gram-positive and some gram-negative bacterial infections, as well as in the treatment of mixed infections. Intravenous administration allows for appropriate dose control in emergency situations and in patients requiring a rapid antibiotic response.
Composition
Each vial of Ampigrin Adult contains 500 mg of ampicillin as sodium salt, and excipients necessary for the formulation of the injectable solution.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ampicillin or other penicillin-group antibiotics. It should not be administered in cases of viral infections or in patients with infections caused by ampicillin-resistant microorganisms.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of allergic diseases, asthma, or kidney problems. Monitoring of renal function is important during treatment, as well as the evaluation of possible adverse reactions. In case of severe allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
