Indications

Ampicillin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to ampicillin. Treated infections include:

  • Respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
  • Ear, nose, and throat infections.
  • Urinary tract infections.
  • Gastrointestinal infections.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.

Ampicillin may also be used in combination with other antibiotics for the treatment of some more severe infections, or for prophylaxis in specific surgical procedures.

Composition

Each Ampicillin tablet contains 500 mg of ampicillin (as ampicillin trihydrate) as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that enable the formulation of the medicine.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ampicillin, penicillins, or other beta-lactam antibiotics. Furthermore, it should not be administered to patients with a history of severe anaphylactic reactions to any component of the formula.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. Likewise, it is recommended to monitor renal function in patients with pre-existing kidney diseases. In case of allergic reactions or adverse effects, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
  4. Orders received after 2:00 PM will be shipped the next day.
