Indications
Amoxil is a broad-spectrum antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is used in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, such as sinusitis and otitis media, as well as lower respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia. In addition, it is prescribed for urinary tract infections and some gastrointestinal infections. Its efficacy extends to skin and soft tissue infections, as well as certain conditions caused by bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 500 mg of amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate). Excipients: sugar, flavorings, colorings and other excipients necessary for the formulation.
Contraindications
Amoxil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, other beta-lactam antibiotics, or any of the components of the formula. Its use should also be avoided in patients with a history of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction related to amoxicillin use.
Precautions
It is important to assess the patient's renal function before starting treatment, as amoxicillin is primarily excreted renally. In patients with renal insufficiency, it may be necessary to adjust the dose. Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with a history of allergies, asthma, or gastrointestinal diseases. Monitor patients for adverse reactions, especially during the first doses.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
