Indications
Amoxiclav Bid Suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to the action of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. It is commonly used in respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. This medicine is particularly effective in infections where the presence of beta-lactamase-producing microorganisms, which can inactivate amoxicillin, is suspected. Its combination offers a broad spectrum of activity against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, making it a versatile therapeutic option in clinical contexts where antibiotic treatment is required.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Amoxicillin 400 mg and Clavulanic Acid 57.1 mg.
Contraindications
Amoxiclav Bid Suspension is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, penicillins, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with the use of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, kidney disease, or in those with gastrointestinal diseases. Regular monitoring of liver function is recommended during prolonged treatment. In case of severe allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately and alternative therapy considered.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
