Indications
Amoxiclav Bid Suspension is a broad-spectrum antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections. It is effective in treating respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis. It is also indicated for skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. This medication is particularly useful in cases where bacteria produce beta-lactamases, which can inactivate other antibiotics. The combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid allows for more effective treatment by broadening the spectrum of action against various bacterial strains.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: 200 mg of amoxicillin (as trihydrate) and 28.57 mg of clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate).
Contraindications
Amoxiclav Bid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the medication or to other antibiotics of the penicillin family. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction related to the use of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those with bleeding disorders or who are undergoing anticoagulant treatment. Renal function should be monitored in patients with renal insufficiency, and the dosage should be adjusted accordingly.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
