Indications

Amoxiclav is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to the action of amoxicillin and which may be complicated by beta-lactamase production. These infections include, but are not limited to:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections, such as sinusitis and otitis media.
  • Lower respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia and acute bronchitis.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Urinary tract infections.
  • Dental infections.

The combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid allows for a broader spectrum of action and is particularly useful in infections where bacterial resistance is suspected.

Composition

Each Amoxiclav tablet contains:

  • Amoxicillin 500 mg
  • Clavulanic Acid 125 mg

Contraindications

Amoxiclav is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillins, beta-lactams, or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients who have experienced jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with the use of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Amoxiclav to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. Furthermore, renal function should be monitored in patients with renal impairment and the dose adjusted as necessary. In case of severe allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
