Indications
Amoxibron Suspension is indicated for the treatment of respiratory infections, otitis media, and other bacterial infections susceptible to amoxicillin. Bromhexine, for its part, acts as a mucolytic, facilitating the expectoration of bronchial secretions. This medication is useful in the management of conditions such as acute and chronic bronchitis, as well as in other pulmonary conditions where there is excessive mucus production. It is recommended for pediatric and adult patients who require antibiotic treatment combined with a mucolytic agent for better recovery from respiratory illnesses.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: 500 mg amoxicillin (as trihydrate) and 8 mg bromhexine (as hydrochloride).
Contraindications
Amoxibron is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to amoxicillin, other penicillin group antibiotics, or any of the formulation's components. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic or anaphylactic reactions to antibiotics. It is not recommended for patients with severe liver or kidney diseases without medical supervision.
Precautions
Special care should be taken when using this medication in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. Monitoring is suggested for patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency. It is important to evaluate the concomitant use of other medications that may interact with amoxicillin or bromhexine.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the container tightly closed and out of reach of children. Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the package.
