Indications
Amofilin is indicated in the treatment of various respiratory conditions that require bronchodilation. It is mainly used in the management of bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, and pulmonary emphysema. This medication acts as a bronchodilator, which means it helps relax the muscles of the airways, facilitating breathing. Its use is especially important in situations where there is obstruction of airflow due to bronchial spasms.
Composition
Each ampule of Amofilin contains 250 mg of aminophylline as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Amofilin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aminophylline or any component of the product. It should also be avoided in patients with severe cardiac conditions, such as arrhythmias or recent myocardial infarction, and in those with active peptic ulcer or severe kidney disease.
Precautions
Careful monitoring is important in patients with heart disease, hypertension, or in those taking other medications that may interact with aminophylline, such as anticoagulants. Dose adjustment is recommended in elderly patients or those with impaired renal function. In addition, excessive use should be avoided, as it can lead to toxicity.
Storage
Amofilin should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and out of the reach of children. Storage temperature should not exceed 30 degrees Celsius. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
