Indications
Amofilin is indicated for the treatment of obstructive respiratory diseases, including bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Aminophylline acts as a bronchodilator, facilitating breathing by relaxing the muscles of the airways and reducing airflow resistance. This medication can be used in acute situations, such as severe asthmatic attacks, and in the management of patients with respiratory failure. Amofilin can also be used as part of a long-term treatment regimen for symptom control in chronic respiratory diseases.
Composition
Each ampule of Amofilin contains 250 mg of aminophylline in a volume of 10 ml.
Contraindications
Amofilin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aminophylline or other xanthine derivatives. It should not be administered in cases of cardiac arrhythmias, seizures, or in patients with active peptic ulcer. Its use is also contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, hypertension, or seizure disorders. It is essential to monitor serum aminophylline levels, especially in patients receiving other medications that may interfere with its metabolism. It is also recommended to avoid consuming products containing caffeine, as they may enhance the effects of the medication.
Storage
Amofilin should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
