Indications

Amlodipine is indicated in the treatment of essential hypertension. This medication acts as a calcium channel blocker, helping to relax blood vessels and, therefore, reduce blood pressure. In addition, it is used in the management of both stable and unstable angina pectoris, improving exercise tolerance in patients with coronary artery disease.

The use of amlodipine may be considered when additional blood pressure control is required, especially in patients with hypertension resistant to other antihypertensive treatments. It can also be used in combination with other antihypertensive drugs to achieve a synergistic effect.

Composition

Each tablet contains 5 mg of Amlodipine as active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the product formulation.

Contraindications

The use of amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amlodipine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is not recommended in cases of cardiogenic shock, severe heart failure, or in patients with severe aortic stenosis.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of heart disease. It is important to monitor blood pressure regularly during treatment, especially at the beginning of therapy or when modifying the dose.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
