Indications

Amlodipine is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, as well as for the management of angina pectoris, both stable and variant. This medication acts as a calcium channel blocker, which allows for the relaxation of vascular muscles and the reduction of peripheral vascular resistance, thus contributing to the lowering of blood pressure. Additionally, it can be used in patients with coronary artery disease to prevent anginal episodes and improve exercise capacity.

Composition

Each tablet contains Amlodipine 5 mg as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Amlodipine or any of the excipients in the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those with cardiogenic shock or severe aortic stenosis.

Precautions

It is recommended to evaluate renal and hepatic function before initiating treatment. In patients with heart failure, blood pressure and heart rate should be closely monitored. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of ischemic heart disease or heart failure. Use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, out of the reach of children. Avoid exposure to direct light and humidity.
