Indications

Amixteria (Atropine) is indicated in emergency situations for the treatment of bradycardia (low heart rate), as well as in cases of organophosphate poisoning, where rapid inhibition of acetylcholine action is required. It is also used in surgical procedures as premedication to reduce salivation and respiratory secretions, and in certain diagnostic situations in ophthalmology, by dilating the pupil and facilitating fundus examination. Furthermore, it can be used to relieve gastrointestinal spasms and for the management of certain respiratory conditions, such as bronchoconstriction.

Composition

Each Amixteria ampule contains: Atropine (as sulfate) 1 mg.

Contraindications

Amixteria is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to atropine or to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with closed-angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, prostatic hypertrophy, or conditions where an increase in intraocular pressure may be harmful. Likewise, its use should be avoided in patients with gastrointestinal obstruction or those with severe cardiac arrhythmias.

Precautions

It is recommended to use Amixteria with caution in elderly patients, in those with heart disease, as well as in people with respiratory or gastrointestinal problems. It is essential to observe the patient's response to treatment and adjust the dose as needed. It should also be noted that atropine can cause side effects such as dry mouth, blurred vision, and increased heart rate.
