Indications

Alzam is indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety symptoms associated with depression. This medication acts on the central nervous system, providing an anxiolytic, sedative, and hypnotic effect. Its use must be supervised by a healthcare professional, as it may be necessary to adjust the dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's response and the severity of the disorder being treated.

Composition

Each Alzam tablet contains 2 mg of alprazolam as the active ingredient. Excipients may include lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others, which facilitate the formulation and stability of the medication.

Contraindications

Alzam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to alprazolam or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of narrow-angle glaucoma, sleep apnea syndrome, and in patients with severe respiratory insufficiency. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, as it may lead to dependence.

Precautions

Medical monitoring is important during treatment with Alzam, especially in elderly patients or those with a history of liver or kidney diseases. Concomitant use of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants can potentiate the sedative effects of the medication, which can lead to increased sedation or respiratory depression. It is recommended to avoid operating heavy machinery or driving vehicles until the individual response to treatment is known.
