Indications
Alveritin is indicated for the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease requiring renal replacement therapy, as well as in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and experiencing anemia secondary to the disease or treatments. It is also used in the management of anemia in HIV-infected patients who are being treated with zidovudine. Erythropoietin is a glycoprotein that stimulates the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, thereby contributing to improved hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in patients.
Composition
Each ampoule contains 4000 International Units of Erythropoietin as the active ingredient, as well as suitable excipients for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Alveritin is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled hypertension, as well as in those who have hypersensitivity to erythropoietin or any of the components of the formulation. Its use should also be avoided in patients with a history of thrombosis or embolism where erythropoietin treatment could worsen their clinical condition.
Precautions
It is recommended to use Alveritin with caution in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular diseases. It is important to monitor blood pressure and hemoglobin levels during treatment, adjusting the dose as needed. This medication must be administered under medical supervision, and regular blood tests should be performed to assess the treatment response.
Storage
Alveritin should be stored in its original packaging, protected from light and at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
