Indications

Altruline (sertraline) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adults. It is also used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Sertraline acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, which helps improve mood, sleep, appetite, and energy, as well as reduce anxiety and obsessive thoughts.

Composition

Each Altruline tablet contains 50 mg of sertraline as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and others.

Contraindications

Altruline is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sertraline or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of discontinuing an MAOI.

Precautions

Caution is advised in patients with a history of manic disorders, seizures, liver or kidney disease, and in those who consume alcohol. It is important to monitor patients for signs of suicidal behavior, especially at the beginning of treatment or when making dosage adjustments.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
