Indications

Almetec-Co is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. It can be used as initial therapy in patients requiring antihypertensive treatment. The combination of Olmesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, has been shown to be effective in reducing blood pressure and decreasing the risk of cardiovascular complications. Its use is recommended in patients with essential hypertension and in those who are overweight or obese, as well as in those with hypertension resistant to other treatments.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor antagonists. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal failure and in those with anuria.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease, dehydration or hypovolemia, as well as in those with liver problems. It is advisable to monitor potassium levels and renal function in patients on prolonged treatment. In addition, it is suggested to regularly evaluate blood pressure during treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
