Indications

Almetec (Olmesartan) is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults. It works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, which results in a reduction in blood pressure. This medication can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensives for blood pressure control. Normalizing blood pressure can reduce the risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and strokes.

Composition

Each Almetec tablet contains 40 mg of olmesartan medoxomil as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.

Contraindications

Almetec is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to olmesartan or to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatments. Its use during pregnancy is contraindicated due to potentially adverse effects on the fetus.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of kidney failure, liver disease, or those taking diuretics. It is important to monitor blood pressure and kidney function during treatment. Patients with a history of cardiovascular problems should be evaluated before starting treatment with Almetec.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
