Indications

Almetec is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Blood pressure reduction helps decrease the risk of cardiovascular and renal events. This medication works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, which causes blood vessel dilation and, as a result, a decrease in blood pressure. It can also be used in combination with other antihypertensives to achieve better blood pressure control.

Composition

Each Almetec tablet contains 20 mg of Olmesartan medoxomil, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Almetec is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Olmesartan or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or renal artery stenosis in a single kidney in patients with compromised renal function.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of angioedema, renal failure, liver diseases, or those undergoing treatment with diuretics. It is advisable to monitor renal function and blood potassium levels during treatment. Its use in combination with other antihypertensives or diuretics may increase the risk of hypotension and electrolyte disturbances.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
