Indications

Allegra is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children 12 years of age and older. This includes symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal and ocular itching, as well as nasal congestion. It is also used for the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria, providing relief from itching and hives associated with this condition. Fexofenadine works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.

Composition

Each Allegra tablet contains 120 mg of fexofenadine as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that aid in the drug's formulation.

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of severe renal insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Allegra in patients with a history of kidney disease or in those taking other medications that may affect kidney function.
