Indications
Aliren is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of various respiratory conditions that present with cold and flu symptoms, such as fever, nasal congestion, runny nose, and sneezing. The combination of amantadine, an antiviral, with chlorphenamine, an antihistamine, and paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic, allows for the relief of symptoms associated with viral infections. This medication is useful in managing flu symptoms, as well as reducing fever and general discomfort.
Composition
Each Aliren capsule contains:
- Amantadine 50 mg
- Chlorphenamine 3 mg
- Paracetamol 300 mg
Contraindications
Aliren is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, or those who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). The use of this medication in combination with other drugs containing paracetamol should be avoided.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, hypertension, asthma, or liver disease. It is advisable to consult a doctor before starting treatment, especially in elderly patients or those who are taking other medications. Aliren may cause drowsiness, so care should be taken when performing activities that require attention.
