Indications
Agglad Drops is indicated for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Its action is based on reducing intraocular pressure by decreasing the production of aqueous humor and increasing its drainage, resulting in a decrease in pressure within the eye. This medication is especially useful in patients who have not responded adequately to other treatments or who have contraindications for the use of other drugs. It is important that treatment with Agglad be carried out under strict medical supervision, considering the individual needs of each patient and the possible combination with other antihypertensive or antiglaucoma agents.
Composition
Each milliliter of Agglad Drops contains 2 mg of brimonidine (as brimonidine tartrate) and excipients q.s.p. 1 ml.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to brimonidine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with central nervous system depression, as well as in those who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have uncontrolled cardiovascular diseases.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases, depression, or mood disorders. Likewise, it is essential to evaluate renal and hepatic function before starting treatment, as well as to monitor intraocular pressure in patients receiving multiple treatments for glaucoma. Not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
