Indications

Adiripem is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, as an adjunct to diet and exercise. Its use is suitable for patients whose hyperglycemia is not effectively controlled with lifestyle changes. Glimepiride works by stimulating insulin secretion from the pancreas, which helps to lower blood glucose levels. Additionally, it can be used in combination with other oral antidiabetics or with insulin to improve glycemic control.

Composition

Each Adiripem tablet contains: 2 mg of glimepiride as the active ingredient. Excipients: corn starch, talc, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to glimepiride or any component of the formula, as well as in those with type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in cases of severe uncontrolled liver or kidney diseases.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, liver disease, or kidney disease. It is important to monitor blood glucose levels, especially during dose adjustments. Patients should be informed about the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia and how to manage them properly.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package.
