Indications

Accupril is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure can help prevent cardiovascular and renal complications associated with hypertension. Furthermore, this medication can be used in patients with congestive heart failure, in combination with other drugs, to improve clinical status and quality of life. Quinapril acts as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, resulting in vasodilation and decreased peripheral vascular resistance. Its use must be supervised by a physician to ensure the suitability of the treatment and monitoring for possible adverse effects.

Composition

Each Accupril tablet contains 10 mg of quinapril as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Accupril is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to quinapril or any component of the formulation. It is also prohibited in patients with hereditary or idiopathic angioedema, as well as in those who are being treated with other ACE inhibitors. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.

Precautions

Caution is important in patients with renal insufficiency, as a dose adjustment may be required. Likewise, the possibility of developing hypotension should be considered, especially in dehydrated patients or those with significant sodium depletion. It is recommended to monitor renal function and electrolytes during treatment with Accupril.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
