Indications
Risedronic acid is indicated for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, as well as for the prevention of fractures in patients with osteoporosis. It is also used in the treatment of Paget's disease of bone. The medication works by inhibiting bone resorption, which helps maintain bone mineral density and reduces the risk of fractures. It is essential to follow medical instructions to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Risedronic acid (35 mg) and excipients q.s.p. (quantity sufficient to complete 1 tablet).
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to risedronic acid or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to individuals with esophageal problems, hypocalcemia, or in cases of severe renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, as risedronic acid can cause esophageal irritation.
