Indications

Ascorbic Acid, also known as Vitamin C, is an essential nutrient that plays a crucial role in various biological functions. It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of vitamin C deficiencies, such as scurvy. Additionally, it is used as an antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. It is important for collagen production, non-heme iron absorption, and maintaining a healthy immune system. It can also be used as an adjuvant in the treatment of infections and in improving immune response.

Composition

Each ampoule contains: 1 g of ascorbic acid.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid or any of the formulation's components. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of oxalic kidney stones, as it may increase oxalate excretion and contribute to stone formation. Likewise, its use should be monitored in patients with intestinal absorption disorders or metabolic diseases affecting vitamin C metabolism.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with kidney disease or who are taking medications that may influence ascorbic acid metabolism. In patients receiving anticoagulant treatment, prothrombin levels should be monitored as vitamin C may interfere with the action of these medications.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
