Indications
Alendronic acid is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, as well as for the prevention of fractures in at-risk patients. It is also used in men with osteoporosis and in the treatment of Paget's disease of bone. This medication works by inhibiting bone resorption, which helps to increase bone mass and reduce the risk of fractures. It is important that treatment with alendronic acid be part of a comprehensive program that includes general health measures, such as adequate calcium and vitamin D intake, as well as physical exercise.
Composition
Each tablet contains 70 mg of alendronic acid as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients to facilitate its formulation and administration.
Contraindications
The use of alendronic acid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any component of the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of hypocalcemia or in patients with esophageal diseases that may make swallowing or the passage of the medication into the stomach difficult. Likewise, its use is contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of gastric or esophageal ulcers, as well as in those with kidney problems. Adequate hydration is essential before administering the medication. Regular monitoring of renal function and serum calcium should be performed during treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
